How These Browser Games Work
Every game here is built on HTML5 canvas or plain DOM, which means there is no plugin to enable, no installer to run, and no launcher to keep updated. Open a game page, wait for it to finish loading, and it runs in the tab. Because the whole game — rules, physics, and scoring — executes in your browser, nothing is streamed from a server while you play.
That also explains why controls differ so much between titles, and why we list them per game. Snake runs on a 150 ms step and reads arrow keys or swipes; Jewel Match is pointer-only and behaves the same with a mouse or a fingertip; Tank Battle needs two halves of one keyboard. The control line on each page tells you which inputs that specific game accepts, rather than making you guess.
Saves are local by design. High scores, unlocked difficulties, and per-game statistics live in your own browser storage on the device you played on. There is no account to sign into and no cloud profile, so nothing follows you to another browser — and nothing has to be handed over to get a game started.
The games are deliberately light. Most are two-dimensional canvas titles that run on a current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari without touching the GPU, which is why they load on school and work machines that would struggle with a downloadable client. Installing the site to your home screen is optional: it gives you an app-like icon and lets offline-ready titles run later without a connection.
FAQ
What are free browser games?
Browser games run in a web browser without an app-store install. Ours are built on HTML5 canvas and plain DOM, so there is no plugin, no launcher, and no installer — you open a page and the game runs. Controls and compatibility can vary by title and are listed on each game page.
Do I need to download anything?
No app-store download is required. Games load in the browser tab. You can optionally add the site to your home screen; games marked for offline use may work after their files have been cached online.
How should families assess age suitability?
Content varies by game. Review each game description before play; some action titles contain stylized combat or weapons. No game here has in-app purchases, and none of them involve betting mechanics.
Can I play on iPhone and Android?
Most games support touch controls, and each game page lists its available controls. No separate iOS or Android app is required, and there is nothing to install from either store.
Do the games work on an older laptop or a school computer?
Generally yes. These are lightweight canvas games rather than 3D engines, so a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari is enough. Marksman 3D is the one title that renders a 3D scene and benefits from a newer device.
Where is my progress saved?
Locally in your own browser. High scores and per-game statistics stay on the device you played on; they are not uploaded to an account, because there is no account. Clearing site data or switching browsers resets them.
Do I need a keyboard, or can I play with a mouse only?
Both work, depending on the game. Puzzle, card, and casual games are pointer-driven and need no keyboard at all, while arcade and action titles usually offer arrow keys or WASD plus a touch alternative. Each game page lists exactly which inputs it accepts.
Are there ads, trackers, or pop-ups?
No. The games load from our own domain with no third-party game embeds, no external media hosts, and no advertising or analytics scripts running in the page.
