Block Puzzle is a browser block-fitting puzzle. Drag polyomino pieces from the tray onto an 8×8 board. Fill complete rows or columns to clear them and earn bonus points.
When all three pieces are placed, a fresh set appears and your level increases. The game ends when none of the remaining pieces can fit anywhere on the grid. Plan ahead — awkward gaps are hard to recover from.
It is designed for quick, relaxing play with undo support for the last few moves.
Controls
- Drag piece — Move a block from the tray onto the grid
- Ghost preview — See where the piece will land while dragging
- Undo — Take back the last placement (up to 5 moves)
- Restart — Clear the board and start a new run
Tips & Tricks
- 1Clear multiple lines at once for bigger score bursts
- 2Leave open corners — tight 1×1 holes often end your run
- 3Use undo if a placement blocks a future line clear
- 4Smaller pieces are flexible — save room for awkward shapes
- 5Level ups mean new piece sets; don't rush the last tray piece
- 6A placement pays 10 points per cell even with no clear, so a 5-cell piece is worth 50 before any line bonus
- 7One drop that clears three lines scores 300 extra — wait for a row and a column to be ready together instead of settling for a single line
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I place blocks?
Drag a piece from the bottom tray onto the grid. It snaps in when the ghost preview aligns with valid cells.
When does the game end?
When no remaining piece can legally fit on the board, you see Game Over and your final score.
Can I undo moves?
Yes. The undo button reverses up to five recent placements.
How is the score calculated?
Each placement scores 10 points for every cell in the piece, then every completed row or column adds 100 more. Clearing two lines with one drop therefore pays 200 on top of the placement score.
Are rows and columns cleared the same way?
Yes. After each placement the game checks all 8 rows and all 8 columns, and every full line is removed at once.
Is there a timer or move limit?
No. Nothing forces you to move, so a run ends only when the remaining pieces no longer fit anywhere on the grid.
