How to Play
Tile Connect is a timed tile-matching puzzle. Click two matching animal tiles to connect them with a clear path of up to two turns. Clear all pairs before the two-minute timer runs out.
Build combos by matching quickly in succession for bonus points. Use hints to reveal a valid pair, or shuffle when the board feels stuck. Animated lines show your path before tiles disappear.
The board is 8 rows by 9 columns and you get 120 seconds, three hints and three shuffles. Every pair is worth 10 base points, and a combo adds another 5 points per combo level — but only if your next match lands within 2 seconds, because the counter resets the moment that window expires. Since there are 36 pairs on a full board, the theoretical ceiling is 360 base points plus whatever your combos add.

Tips & Tricks
- 1Scan edges first — corner tiles often block paths later
- 2Combo matches within two seconds multiply your score
- 3Paths can turn at most twice; straight and L-shaped routes count
- 4Shuffle before the timer is critical — don't hoard shuffles
- 5Clear pairs that open the center of the board when possible
- 6The path is searched as a shortest-route problem with a turn budget, so two tiles can be adjacent yet unconnectable if every route needs three turns
- 7Since a combo only survives 2 seconds, plan your next pair while the current animation plays rather than after it
Frequently Asked Questions
How many turns can a path make?
Up to two turns (three segments). The path must be clear of other tiles.
What happens when time runs out?
The round ends. Restart for a fresh 2:00 board and score reset.
Do combos stack?
Yes. Each match within 2 seconds of the previous one raises the combo by one and adds 5 points per combo level, so a 4x combo on a pair pays 10 + 20.
What if no path is available?
Use one of the limited shuffles to rearrange the remaining tiles and open new routes.
How big is the board?
8 rows by 9 columns, which is 36 pairs, and you start with 120 seconds on the clock.
How many hints and shuffles do I get?
Three of each per round. Neither carries over to a new board.
